Title: His Sun and Stars

Pairing: Andrej Zeklos/James Rosewood/Zayne Reyes

Summary: Andrej’s mind wanders and he thinks about his boys.
Author’s Note: Written for the gen prompt bingo round #29. Prompt was sun and stars. This is a bit… meandering… but hopefully you enjoy it.
He got asked a lot by the people closest to him why he’d consented to James’ proposition. The one that had brought Zayne into their relationship on a permanent basis. Trish didn’t understand, not at all. Jake said he did, but Andrej was pretty certain that he was only saying that as a way of supporting his choices. Which was something that Andrej appreciated. There was much too little quiet support these days.
Hilary, on the other hand, did get it, at least as far as Zayne went. He knew that Zayne had not been the best boyfriend to her over the years. Both from what she’d told him and from what he’d seen with his own eyes, but she knew Zayne’s heart probably better than anyone else. So, she alone didn’t chide Andrej for his choices. She just smiled and understood what the rest never would.
She had admitted that she didn’t understand the attraction to James. He could understand and even appreciate that since James and Zayne were as different as the stars and the sun. One was cool and comforting, shining a bit of light in the darkness, while the other burned as bright and hot as the noonday sun.
He smiled at that thought. It was obvious to him, and likely to everyone else, exactly who was the sun and who was the stars. Zayne, with his fiery, passionate approach to life was absolutely the sun. While James, with his calm and practical approach to the world, was most definitely the stars. However, James had his moments of fiery passion just the same as Zayne could be surprisingly calm in the face of chaos.
You just never knew with the two of them.
Andrej sighed and picked up the sponge he had abandoned on the kitchen counter. He’d been woolgathering again, letting his mind wander while he cleaned. It wasn’t the worst way to get through his chores, but sometimes, thoughts of his boys kept him from being very productive. James and Zayne were due to return from their outing soon and he didn’t want it to look like he hadn’t been doing anything while they’d been gone.
Not that either would care. However, Andrej cared, so he squeezed the sponge and started scrubbing at a spot of something that had to have been leftover from breakfast.
“Hey baby,” he heard seconds before Zayne pressed a kiss to the back of his head. “Did you have fun cleaning?”
Andrej tilted his head sideways just enough to see Zayne’s handsome face, earning himself another kiss, this one to the cheek. “I do not enjoy cleaning, therefore it is not fun.”
“Coulda fooled me,” James chuckled.
Pressing a kiss to Zayne’s jaw, Andrej wriggled out of his boyfriend’s grasp. Putting a hand on James’ shoulder, he leaned in and gave the redhead a chaste kiss on the lips. “It has to be done,” he said, looking at his two partners. “And since no one will ever help me…”
“Okay, okay,” Zayne groaned, leaning against the counter and throwing his hands in the air. “We knooooow, okay? We’re bums, but you love us.”
“He does,” James agreed, pulling Andrej against him.
“Heaven only knows why,” Andrej muttered, smiling as Zayne pushed off the counter and came over to wrap his arms around them both. “But I do.”
