Friday Thoughts

asphaltcowgrrlFirst, to the Knights: CAN WE PLEASE STOP TAKING EVERY GOD DAMNED GAME TO OVERTIME? I'm sending Bill Foley the bill for my blood pressure medications that I'm sure to be on by the end of this season. And no, boys, I do not care that you somehow managed to win last night either.
Okay, now that I've go that off my chest. 😂 I gave up after the second period last night and went to bed. It must have helped.
In a similar vein, I got a notification that book #3 in the Game Changers series is on sale for $4.99. So, I skip over to Kobo to buy it annnnnd... it's $10.99 there. I do not want to buy it from Amazon, I want it on my Kobo with the other two! Annoys the heck out of me that something can be on sale on one platform but not another.
My stepfather has been in the hospital since December 27th. When I saw him on Christmas, he had lost a lot of weight - he didn't even look like himself - and his legs were swollen and beet red. Mom said she'd been trying to get him to go to the doctor for weeks, but being a man (and a Taurus to boot) he refused. I don't know how or why, but she did manage to get him to go to the VA ER that Saturday. They took a look at him and transferred him to the hospital. 😂 Which is probably for the best. He had a bacterial infection in his legs and water around his heart. They drained 1.8 litres of water out of him. Doctor said it was the second largest amount he'd ever gotten out of one person. He'd had a temporary pacemaker placed, which was removed a few days ago. Mom said that they decided a permanent one wasn't needed yet. She also told me yesterday that he's been moved to a rehab place and has a private room. Hopefully he can come home soon. Although mom did comment that the house has been much quieter and cleaner with him gone. Hah!
I'm looking back at this, trying to remember what else I wanted to say when I thought of something. Last year, Kaige suggested I put a dollar aside for every book I read and use only that money to buy new books. I thought that was a great idea and I managed to bank $132 last year. No, I absolutely do not have a life, why? So, I might go see if I can find the books in print. Not that I need even one more physical book in my house.
I thought there was something else I wanted to mention, but I'm drawing a blank, so I'll stop babbling for now.

Have you watched Heated Rivalry (based on Game Changers) yet? I binged all 6 eps at the weekend - I am no hockey fan but boy are those boys awesome! Apparently Canada makes the best mm TV shows! 🇨🇦❤️💏

HAHAHA. I have watched the first two episodes and read the first two books in the series, but that's it. The fandom and sheer amount of HR stuff that invaded my feeds — both on IG and Reddit — rather overwhelmed me so I stopped. I want to finish it soon though. Hudson and Connor are something else.
It's only fitting — the author is Canadian. :D
