Mostly, I'm all for it.  I'm pretty good with a computer or a smartphone, although sometimes, things do throw me. But I can usually figure things out in a pinch.

A good example of this was years ago I had a Dell laptop.  I'd boot it up in the morning, set it down on the footstool, and go into the kitchen to make a coffee.  By the time the Keurig was done, the laptop was ready to go.  One morning, my cat, Buddy, walked across the keyboard while it was booting and DELETED MY USER PROFILE.  To this day, I have no damn idea how he did this.  So, I'm sitting in my chair in the living room, laptop open in front of me, and my Kindle Fire in hand, searching the web for help.  I have to say - I fixed it.  Me and Google.  When I saw Troy that  night, he was flabbergasted.  Damn cat.

Fast forward to tonight.

This past Friday, I had Violet and Gideon at the vet for yearly bloodwork and to get Violet caught up on her vaccines. As she was a COVID baby (she turned 1 in the middle of lockdown), she never got vaccinated after we adopted her at 10 weeks.  She's six now and... yeah, I'm a bad mom. But we were discussing Gideon's weight (he did lose a touch - down from 18.3 lbs to 18.1 lbs) and I commented that Violet wakes me up at midnight every night for food. Vet suggested an automatic feeder.  Okay, great. I even found one with three bowls.  (Yes, I have four cats, but Fawkes doesn't usually eat in the middle of the night.)

The new feeder arrived tonight and as I'm trying to connect it to the wifi I discover it will not work on a 5g network. So, Google to the rescue.  I learned how to split the bands on my router so I can connect the feeder to 2.4g and the rest of the house to 5g.  I mean, I knew this was possible because Troy gave his Xbox its own channel and, later, had to do the same for my Peloton. But me?  Do that myself?  HAH.  But yanno what?  I did.

Seriously though, WTF doesn't work on 5g in this day and age?  I have high tech cats here people.

The real test is to see whether or not it drops food in 17 minutes or not.

That is one BIG cat! Our old boys were just over 6kg (13.2lb) at their heaviest and I thought they were big! 😺

As to the other - go you! That is some chops you got there! I like to think I am fairly savvy with how to do stuff, or like you I Google it, but even then, I'm not sure I could split things like that! You are amazing! Keep up the great work!
