1. What time did you get up this morning?
About 3:45 AM, because my cat, Alfie, is under the impression I should be up before the alarm.
2. How do you like your steak?
Mooing.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
Tomorrowland last weekend.
4. What is your favorite TV show?
This changes depending on the time of year. During the *regular* season: Castle, Elementary, and Modern Family. During the summer and winter break: Rizzoli & Isles and Royal Pains. I'm going to miss Perception this summer.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Anywhere in the desert.
6. What did you have for breakfast?
Cheese quesadilla.
7. What is your favorite cuisine?
I love all food for the most part, but I'm awfully partial to Chinese and Mexican. I live in the southwest, I think that last part was expected. :D
8. What foods do you dislike?
Beans of any kind. Everything else, I'll eat.
9. Favorite Place to Eat?
Ventano.
10. Favorite dressing?
Depends on what's in my salad, but I do love concocting fruity vinaigrettes to suit my needs.
11. What kind of vehicle do you drive?
Dodge Ram.
12. What are your favorite clothes?
T-shirt and jeans. Oh, and bare feet. :D
13. Where would you visit, this weekend, if you had the chance?
Tempe, AZ. My BFF lives there.
14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?
Half full!
15. Where would you want to retire?
Phoenix, AZ. Or really anywhere in the southwest US. New Mexico or Utah are also possibilities.
16. Favorite time of day?
Right now seems to be working for me. :D
17. Where were you born?
Pekin, IL.
18. What is your favorite sport to watch?
For the majority of my life, it was baseball. The longer I'm with my husband, the more it becomes tennis.
19. How many siblings?
1 brother (older) and 1 sister (younger).
20. Favorite pastime/hobby?
Reading, writing, gardening, baking.
21. Who are you most curious about their responses to this?
This is the response. I've already read the others! <-- what
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
22. Bird watcher?
Not so much, but I do glance up when I see the shadow of something. We're close enough to the mountains to occasionally see hawks and crows the size of small aircraft.
23. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Afternoons are really my best time.
24. Do you have any pets?
Right now, I have a 5-year-old grey and white Maine Coon named Buddy and a 4-year old caramel-colored Maine Coon mix named Alfie. My hamster went to the big wheel in the sky last October and I haven't had the heart to get another.
25. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share?
Errr...
26. What did you want to be when you were little?
A writer, actually. Although, in my teens, I decided I wanted to be a psychologist.
27. What is your best childhood memory?
Spending the summers with my grandparents in Phoenix, hanging in my uncle's pool.
28. Are you a cat or dog person?
I love all animals. Never thought I'd be a cat person until I had one. I've been so long without a dog that I'm not sure I'd know how to act with one in my house.
29. Are you married?
Yep. 17 years now.
30. Always wear your seat belt?
Yep.
31. Been in a car accident?
A couple, thankfully without any major injury.
32. Any pet peeves?
Stupidity and arrogance. People who ask you a question and then say, "No, that's not it." Nosy people who have to butt into every conversation they're not a part of or assume they know what you're discussing when they don't have a clue. Oh and FOREMEN RELATED TO THE OWNERS WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO TURN IN A TIME CARD. Er, sorry... it's Wednesday and I had to get that out. LOL
33. Favorite Pizza Toppings?
Mushrooms.
34. Favorite Flower?
Any cactus flower.
35. Favorite ice cream?
Hmmm... Tillamook's Mountain Huckleberry. Blue Belll's Homemade Blackberry Cobbler. Baskin-Robbins' World Class Chocolate. DQ soft serve.
36. Favorite fast food restaurant?
Fatburger (and I know of at least one person laughing right now) and Capriotti's, depending on whether I want a burger or a sub.
37. How many times did you fail your driver's test?
I failed the driving portion the first time. But, in my defense, my mother's last words to me were, "If you don't pass, you can't leave to go to college." So um, yeah. No pressure or anything.
38. From whom did you get your last email?
The local public library telling me that vegetarian cookbook I'd been waiting on was available for checkout.
39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
Barnes and Noble or Target. I mean, I can get the world at Target, at a discount.
40. Do anything spontaneous lately?
Not sure I even know what that word means.
41. Like your job?
99.9% of the time, yes. Other times, maybe not. But I'm good at what I do and I'm relatively efficient.
42. Broccoli?
Yummy. :) But the only way I'll eat it raw is if it's been shredded for broccoli slaw.
43. What was your favorite vacation?
I don't get out much, but I did love visiting Huntington Beach, CA with my family and in-laws last year.
44. Last person you went out to dinner with?
Husband, kids and my in-laws after the movie on Saturday.
45. What are you listening to right now?
The Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks.
46. What is your favorite color(s)?
Greens and blues.
47. How many tattoos do you have?
None. I'd love one, but I have a tendency to be rather wishy washy and I'm afraid I'd get one and hate it six months later. Have thought about a tripple goddess symbol or an ink quill with my pen name's initials.
48. How many people will fill this out?
Probably Miss Wow and no one else. Half have already done it and of those left, it's probably not their thing.
49. What time did you finish this quiz?
I'll tell you in a minute.
50. Coffee Drinker?
Yeah baby.

Date: 2015-05-27 06:43 pm (UTC)OMG! We have Hawks (or they could be golden eagles idk), but they glide beautifully just before dusk over my neighborhood. There were 8 and then 15 and last year we counted 18 in the sky at once. And then they come quite low and look like they could fight the Red Baron, so we grab the little dog and throw him in the house! Big birds is scary!
Ya, payroll. "What do you mean I don't get paid for the holiday just because I didn't show up for work on Tuesday?" YOU ROCK! That's what I have to say on the matter!
ROCK!

Date: 2015-05-27 08:14 pm (UTC)That would have been both scary and amazing wrapped into one! The first hawk I saw was sitting on the roof outside my daughter's window... he was holding a pigeon in his claws. LOL
OMG, right? Or when they call Wednesday afternoon and say, "I didn't work Tuesday so I didn't turn in my time card. Can I give you my hours?" This is usually at least three hours after I've finished payroll. GAH.
Aw, thank you. And you rock, too, my friend. Because I know you beat your head into your desk every Wednesday, too. :)

Date: 2015-05-27 08:42 pm (UTC)I've never seen them that close, but there are stories here all the time about them grabbing small dogs and cats. It is funny that the other birds don't sing when the hawks are circling.
An hour after payroll the guy who was out sick asked me how much vacation time he had and could he use it.
ALL THE ROCKING FOR WEDNESDAY PAYROLL!

Date: 2015-05-27 09:08 pm (UTC)I've heard the same thing. My boss lives out near Red Rock, on the edge of the city and there's a lot of undeveloped desert out that way. His neighbor lost one dog to a coyote and the other to a hawk, so you have every right to worry!
DOH! What is it with these boys?
YES! WE ARE AWESOME (mainly for not killing our co-workers)!

Date: 2015-05-28 02:00 am (UTC)I love your answers! Especially "mooing". Does that mean you like your steak extra rare or that you don't eat steak and prefer to see the cow frolicking in a field somewhere?
I've never seen a cactus flower in real life, though I'd like to someday. Unfortunately we're not going to any dessert towns this year. Hopefully I can put that on my to-do list for my next tour.
Aw, your bff is in Tempe! I like Tempe. It's nice and warm there. I also experienced my very first sand storm there. A bad cloud kicked up just as the plane was trying to land, so we circled for a while. It was pretty cool from the air, kind of stingy once we got on the ground. ;)

Date: 2015-05-28 06:09 pm (UTC)Heh - both. I rarely eat steak (or beef, really), but when I do, I like my steak rare. But if I had my choice, I'd rather see it walking around on the hoof. :D
There's a chocolate factory here - Ethel M Chocolates - and on the grounds outside of the factory, they have a cactus garden. In late March/early April, they all bloom and it's one of the most gorgeous things you'll ever see. Such bright colors. :)
Yes, she is! Oh lord, aren't those fun though? As a kid, there was so much desert land surrounding our housing development that I could sit outside and watch the dust devils (think a tornado funnel of sorts made of nothing but dirt) whip up from the ground up. Fascinating sight, but nothing you want to get caught in!
