And since I've not been able to concentrate enough to put some words down, how about a few icons?

Moving Out - Aladdin as a street urchin

Moving Up - Aladdin as Prince Ali (fabulous he!)

Aladdin_02

Moving On - Aladdin and Jasmine happily ever after

Plus two bonuses. Can't have Aladdin icons and not include Genie, right? But Iago, he was my favorite part of the whole movie.

Lovely to see some Aladdin loving! =) This is one of those rare movies where I loved the whole heroic cast AND the "evil" sidekick, but my favorite, paws down, was Rajah, even if he did get so little activity in the movie! Then Genie, and then I'd honestly have trouble choosing!

Aladdin is probably my favorite of the 'new wave' movies (Lion King, Little Mermaid, etc), so I'm glad they're being appreciated!

Rajah is great, has such great expressions, and so is the carpet, but I have this weird love for Gilbert Godfried (that comes from watching way too many reruns of Hollwood Squares as a teen), so Iago holds a special place in my heart. :D

I totally get it! I love the crazy, little bird too, but I'll always be about the cats first and foremost. :) I fell in love with Jasmine the moment I saw Rajah!

Aladdin would be my third favorite of the new waves. I love The Lion King, but I can't watch it because of Mufasa's death. I love Pocahontas, but the ending rips my heart out every time. But Aladdin I can watch again and again!

As for The Little Mermaid, that one just never grabbed me. But as I always say, each to their own!

Generally, I'd be right there with you on the cats, but something about Iago gets me.

I like the Lion King, too! Oh, the end of Lilo & Stitch where Stitch says 'This is my family. Is broken, but still good" breaks my friggen heart. I watched it again about a month ago and got caught crying by 17-year-old. Hahaha.

The Little Mermaid has great songs, but it's much lower on the list of re-watchable movies for me. But definitely - we like what we like, right? :D

Absolutely!! I don't usually like the smartass characters that much, but there was always something about Iago that grabbed me. Probably the whole side of his character where he's really got a good heart but he's tries hard to hide it. I started liking him because I felt sorry for him, and his whole romance with Thundra, and especially some old stories that were on FFN, certainly didn't hurt!

LOVE Lilo & Stitch! =) For some reason, I just don't really think of them in the New Wave. Maybe because I've watched the cartoon thousands of time. LOVE that they have the broken, assorted, but GOOD family, LOVE his bond with Lilo, and LOVE Bleakley's crossdressing and open femininity.

Even the worst Disney movies tend to have great songs. :)

I really hate to be seen crying. I'm better about it now than I used to be, but I still steer as far away as I can from media things I know will make me cry.

I think you're right about his big heart showing through Iago's sarcastic nature. There's just something about that bird!

Lilo & Stitch is great. I can relate to them all so much. Yes to Bleakley - reminds me of Bugs Bunny back in the day. Always wearing a dress. :D

Same, but I tend to be an emotional wreck on a good day, so I've gotten over it. I can't blame you for that though, I don't intentionally seek out things that will make me cry, but it happens sometimes.
