I just wrote a huge post and deleted it. I can't dump all that on you guys on a Friday. Suffice it to say that I've learned how little one co-worker actually values me and it's upset me.

When someone flat out tells you he wasn't listening during a conversation about something relevant to your job, it makes you wonder why you even come into work. I always thought they felt like I was beneath them. Now I know that, at least with one of them, it's true.

Why have I given 21 years of my life to this company? Sometimes I wonder.

And... I'm sorry. I feel so defeated right now.

No, never. They can be annoying but they usually do pay attention when I'm talking to them. It was the co-worker who has a son my age and routinely treats me like his child. (Meaning: he knows more than me, etc.)

Yeah, if they ever ignore me it's generally because they're up to their eyeballs in something serious. Not because they think they're better than me and don't need to listen.

God, this last month has really tested the boundaries of what I can handle. Can't even imagine what this next month might bring.

Amen to that. And likely he'll need something from me soon. He always does because the little things aren't his job, right?

Aw, thank you. I'm getting all kinds of puppy love today. And to lighten this whole thing... Sunny has been trying to get a fly for the last half hour and has fallen off the window sill twice.

Right? Nayla is a ragdoll and they have a reputation of being 'puppy cats'. She'll follow you around and chase her tail and everything. Sunny, on the other hand, is a crackhead. Chases her tail, steals potato peels out of the trash to play with... lord, this animal.

They definitely make our world brighter.

Warranty - so that you won't bother with it, and if you do they have further steps to take before paying out.

Staying - because some of them do value you. They paid your leave w/o taking it out of your earned time.

You are so good at your job, you make it look easy. I have never had a job where the people who don't do my job think my job is easy. You have a non-construcion job in a construction industry. It can't possibly be difficult. You and I know better. If your job was so easy, they wouldn't have ever had to hire someone to do it.

I'm sorry that someone treated you invaluably. You deserve better, especially with how insane the last 6 weeks, months, years have been.

If you still feel this angry on Monday, say something to the group of brothers. That you feel disrespected and that it is intolerable.

Actually, it's a warranty guaranteeing we'll fix our work should something break (a hose bibb leaks or a faucet stops working). Which is why I was so confused.

I hope so, lately I'm not feeling it. But then, they wouldn't have kept me for 21 years if I wasn't somewhat efficient. :)

I've never thought about it that way honestly. And a good part of it, I think, is that so much of my job is made up of little things - calling inspections, handling phone calls, entering invoices as they come into Quickbooks - that they don't understand that it all adds up to a lot. But you're absolutely right.

Thank you. I wish that talking to the three of them would do any good, but it never has been in the past. I don't hold onto anger long usually, so I'll be fine by Monday but... it still bugs me.

You're babbling and I'm being overly dramatic. :) Give Eggs a big hug for me. I love you both, too!
