I AM SO EXCITED. XD

First of all, I love getting ARC's (advanced reader copies). LOVE. IT. I know it's selfish, but I get all giddy when I have a book in my hands months before it's released to the general public. I'm just a jerk that way.
(Hmmm... maybe it was a good thing I put on my *nice shoes* this morning?)
And then, to sweeten the pot, since the book came directly from the author (who lives in my town even!!!), it was autographed.
I'm beyond stoked, right? So, then I read the note she tucked into the book (about giving an honset review, talking about it on social media, etc.), I realize SHE REMEMBERS ME. Whaaaaaaaaaaat? It's been probably three years and SHE KNEW WHO I WAS. I can't even.
*deep breaths*
So, in other, less braggy news... I discovered that my husband (which I knew) and my 13-year-old (which I probably should have realized) have been playing Neverwinter. He on the Xbox, she on her laptop. While my husband was playing on Sunday, she kept asking him a million questions and - to my shock - he wasn't annoyed! They were having an actual conversation over this game. And then me, being the idiot that I am, have to pipe in and say, "You know... one of my favorite authors writes books set in Neverwinter." My book-loving teen's ears perk up and she basically says, "GIMME". Unfortunately, I didn't have the first book in the series - Gauntlgrym - so we bought it for her. This makes me happy in so many ways, but mostly because I can share something I love so much (R. A. Salvatore and Drizzt) with her and she can share Neverwinter with her father. It's a win-win.
As a side note, my other child, Taylor, got a subscription to Vogue magazine since she won't read. Le sigh.
