Title: Cops and Rubies Chapter 1
Fandom: Romani Detective Original Fic
Pairing: Gen, post-Zayne Reyes/Hilary Maxwell
Rating: PG-13 (shouldn’t get much worse than this throughout)
Word Count: 5,001
Summary: Detectives Zayne Reyes and Andrej Zeklos, along with partners Hilary Maxwell and Trish Rollins, attempt to solve a string of robberies at a rather unusual sort of venue.
Author’s Notes: First chapter in a new(ish) series. I have a few shorts written with these two but this is the fic that actually started it at all. Also, I feel like I need to change the name of this ‘fandom’. Again. In my reading I have discovered that apparently Țigan is widely regarded as an ethnic slur, as is the word gypsy (which I already knew about the latter). I mean nothing by the use of it (or by the fact that Zayne insists on calling Zek ‘gypsy boy’ – it’s more to show Reyes’ ignorance than any actual insult) as I have a giant fascination for the Romany people and their cultures and customs. Which… is why I have got to figure something else out here. *beats head into wall*
Edit: I’m giving up. It’s Romani now. Just shoot me.
( And my heart beats... )
