Author’s Notes: First chapter in a new(ish) series.  I have a few shorts written with these two but this is the fic that actually started it at all.  Also, I feel like I need to change the name of this ‘fandom’.  Again.  In my reading I have discovered that apparently Țigan is widely regarded as an ethnic slur, as is the word gypsy (which I already knew about the latter).  I mean nothing by the use of it (or by the fact that Zayne insists on calling Zek ‘gypsy boy’ – it’s more to show Reyes’ ignorance than any actual insult) as I have a giant fascination for the Romany people and their cultures and customs.  Which… is why I have got to figure something else out here.  *beats head into wall*

Edit: I’m giving up.  It’s Romani now.  Just shoot me.

When writing fan fiction, you know what your characters look like and probably have a stash of photos to back you up, too, right?  Well, when writing original fic, you're not as lucky.  However, I will say that I almost always have a firm idea of what my characters look like when I begin a new 'world'.  Normally, they aren't based on anyone I know or a popular celebrity, although sometimes I think 'Michael's eyes, Taylor's abs, and Warren's mouth'.  But sometimes, they are based off someone in real life.
